What is therapeutic horsemanship?

Therapeutic horsemanship is defined as equine activities that are organized and taught by knowledgeable and skilled instructors to people with disabilities or diverse needs. Students progress in equestrian skills while improving their cognitive, emotional, social and behavioral skills.
Purple Pony focuses on therapeutic horsemanship. It is provided by certified therapeutic horsemanship instructors. Each participant is evaluated and a program is selected that will best meet his or her needs. For more information about equine assisted activities, visit the following site:
