Any groups wanting to gain horse knowledge is
welcome... from school field trips, moms clubs, homeschooling groups, birthday
parties, Girl Scout troops, summer camps and more!
Our program lasts about about 2 hours. During that
time, you will:
◾We'll have an orientation and tour of
the stable as we discuss with you the care of horses. We will explain what they eat, how much and how
often. We'll talk about what kind of treats horses can safely eat and enjoy. We'll also discuss what is included in the everyday care and running of a stable and what is necessary for the well being of horses.
◾We'll practice safe stall and barn
◾We'll examine the tools needed to groom
a horse and discover the purpose of each one. We'll learn how to brush a horse before and after saddling.
◾We'll also discuss safe riding rules, good
ring manners, safe clothing and gear for riding for both English & Western riding.
◾You'll observe and watch the saddling and bridling
of a horse.
◾Each participant will then be
lead around the arena, while walking/trotting after receiving a very basic demonstration of
mounting, correct positioning, explanation of stopping and turning.
We hope you will come and ask questions and learn something fun and new about horses and horse back riding!
