Sharon graduated from SUNY Morrisville with a degree in Equine Science and Management. She rode under the stock seat and hunt seat team for SUNY Morrisville going on to compete in the AHSA Nationals two years in a row.
After receiving her degree and a lot of hands on experience under her belt, she worked at a series of horse farms - training, giving lessons and doing chores. While working as a product specialist for State Line Tack (an equine catalog company) she and her husband Mat started slowly building Double G Ranch. After 8 years of service at State Line, the company was relocated to another state and at that time Double G Ranch became Sharon's full time job, alongside the full time job of mothering and raising two daughters!
On the side Sharon enjoys competing in the APRA Rodeo circuit in the Cowgirl Breakaway event.
Mat built Double G Ranch from the ground up. From the design to the hands on works of crafting everything from the stalls, to the 100'x150' outdoor arena, the viewing/tack room and more. Double G Ranch wouldn't be what it is today without Mat's hard work and dedication to the facility.
Mat enjoys team penning, roping and Steer Wrestling. He served as president of Attica Rodeo and Show Association in the past, meanwhile still holding a strong active membership.
Mat competes in many APRA rodeos as a steer wrestler, with hopes to compete in
roping in the near future. On occasion, an over night trail ride is also enjoyed during the summer months with his family. When Mat isn't maintaining the farm or riding
his horses he is employed as an Electrical Lineman.
We here at Double G Ranch believe in the most natural care for "our" horses. By doing so we have happy and healthy horses! "Think like a horse, not a human".
